About the Sheriff and His Goals

Alfonzo Williams grew up hard in a public housing project on Pilgrim Way and took advantage of the great opportunity America offers to those who wish to succeed. Supported by a strong single mother of seven childen, he moved to Augusta at age 19 and began a 29 year law enforcement career.

His lifelong desire to become Sheriff of the county he loves became reality in 2016 when he was elected Sheriff with more than 72 percent of the vote. He is now seeking his second term in the General Primary Election on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
