Your vote is your voice as an American citizen. It’s your opportunity to be heard, to hold elected officials accountable for their decisions and to have a say in important issues that affect your community. On Election Day, every vote matters.

You can now register to vote online if you have a Georgia issued personal identification card or a Georgia issued driver’s license.  Visit the Secretary of State’s website at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.

Need a more mobile option? There's an app for that!  Download GA Votes from the Play Store or Apple Store onto your phone or tablet device.  It allows for registration and updates or changes to name and/or address information.  The site also provides information on polling locations, sample ballots, satellite voting locations, push notifications and more! You must meet certain eligibility requirements to register to vote in Georgia. You can register if you are:

  • A United States citizen.
  • A legal resident of a Georgia county.
  • At least 17 1/2 years old (you must be 18 years old before or on Election Day).

Even if you meet these requirements, you are NOT eligible to vote if you:

  • Are serving a sentence for a felony conviction.
  • You can vote again once you've completed your sentence requirements.
  • Have been deemed by a judge to be mentally incompetent.

Check Your Registration Status and Register If Necessary
