I know the information I provide on this website may not provide all the answers and that you may have questions that are specific to you and/or your family. If you cannot find the answers to your questions here please use the contact form provided. I promise I will answer any questions you may have.
If you would prefer to ask me those questions in person, I urge you to call me or visit with me. It is important that you receive the answers to your questions directly from me. You should not have to rely on someone else for information about your Sheriff. More importantly, I expect you to hold me accountable for the answers I provide.
I am one of you and it has been my lifelong goal to serve as your sheriff. I grew up hard right here in a housing project in Burke County under the stern tutelage of a strong Christian mother and with the help of a village of principled people. I started my law enforcement career at age 19..
I paid my dues, I got a good education and two Masters Degrees, I trained under the best and I learned how to be a good lawman from other good lawmen. I learned the law from patrolman to investigator to trainer to assistant chief to chief. Together we can continue the great strides we have made so far during my first term as your sheriff.
